STEPHEN JONES INVADES DOVER STREET MARKET

Dover Street Market hosts a retrospective of Stephen Jones' work. The exhibition, a celebration of 25 years in millinery will be showcased throughout the six floors.

An assortment of exciting products, from Comme des Garçons and many of the designers at Dover Street Market, made especially for the holiday season.

ART AND BEAUTY - Erotic Vintage Bookstore. 3rd Floor. Art and Beauty, Lovers and Literature, by Tony Gross.

This new space will house a selection of erotic literature and vintage magazines and books, curated by Tony Gross. The collection includes Guy Bourdin's first ever calender for a HULL tyre manufacturer, vintage fetish bicycle comics from Japan, back issues of cinema X magazine, and many many other examples of where art and sex confront each other.

Tide chandelier by Stuart Haygarth. Ground. Stuart Haygarth's TIDE chandelier is made from a cocoon of plastic objects all found on the Kent coastline to form this exquisite spherical cocoon of light.  Over the last two years Stuart has been working on design projects which revolve around collections of objects. The objects are normally collected in large numbers and assembled in a way that transforms their meaning. The finished piece of work takes various forms such as large one off chandeliers, installations, sculptural and functional works. TIDE chandelier will be exhibited at Dover Street Market until November 7th.

Tragic Hangers by Olivier Saillard. Ground. Fashion curator, professor and author, Olivier Saillard, presents tragic Hangers, an installation of tee-shirt poems and decorative hangers realised at Villa Kujoyama, Kyoto this year. "Unlike the fashion designer who works with a living body in mind, my role is to pick up the garment in its final days, when it is discarded by its owner and to observe the different status it adopts in different environments such as a dressing room, a loft or an exhibition. In all these situations, the garment puts up resistance to the body no longer here to wear it. Sometimes, when the garment itself no longer is, all that is left of it are lists or press releases, witnesses of past collections. These places of surrender and exhibition, which all convey a sense of permanence and which are themselves neglected by all the fashion trades, are the ground for my work as an artist and a curator."

Hackney Shelf graffiti furniture By Ryan Frank. Ground. The Hackney Shelf presents a blank canvas to the open public.  White boards are displayed at various graffiti hotspots around East London especially in areas that attract a variety of illicit city activities.  Once the boards have "matured" they are reclaimed and transformed into contemporary shelving units, juxtaposing art with the interior environment.
