Stephen Jones invades Dover Street Market! December 2nd 2005 - January 7th 2006
Click here to read more about this event at stephenjonesmillinery.com
Just as with each of his collections, Stephen Jones has employed an integral concept to every floor of Dover Street Market. The ground floor presents the lyrical lifeline of Stephen Jones' work over the last 25 years. Movement, sensuality, traditional and innovative techniques are portrayed with charm in a cabinet of curiosities. The first floor traverses super-chic to the humorous Chapeau Boo-tique - appraising the diverse and unexpected of Jones' aesthetic, finishing with a special collection designed for the Comme des Garçons' AW 2005 'Broken Bride' Collection. The second floor depicts the Jones wit in 'Handmade in England', which is a compilation of hats representing Stephen Jones' interpretation of traditional Britishness. The third floor celebrates his collaborations, past and present, with numerous designers. On the fourth floor, a taste of super-nature, animalistic hats surround the ephemera of Stephen Jones and lead to the pagan green man. Finally, the basement is brimming with clouds of hats so you can literally walk with your head in the clouds and every cloud costs only £40 with a quarter of the proceeds going to charity. Each defined section gives an insight into Stephen Jones allegorical approach and a window on the fastastical world of Stephen Jones and his glorious hats.

Hackney Shelf graffiti furniture By Ryan Frank. Ground. The Hackney Shelf presents a blank canvas to the open public. White boards are displayed at various graffiti hotspots around East London especially in areas that attract a variety of illicit city activities. Once the boards have "matured" they are reclaimed and transformed into contemporary shelving units, juxtaposing art with the interior environment.
